You ever watch a movie and it moves you alot more then you expected?
You know, it makes you think about things that are kind of related to the film, but are really really big and important and deep and interesting? Though the movie you just saw kinda of was not those things?
It is an odd effect I find.
I just watched The Invention of Lying with Ricky Gervais and I liked it quite a bit. I thought there was alot of loose ends and such, not really a well tightened story, but I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.
It kind of made me think though about alot of things such as perception, life, social status, love, humans, religion, and so much more.
What I find most interesting, though, is that these thoughts were provoked by this film, when beforehand I had no such idea that that would possibly happen.
Other films that I recall doing this to me were Domino (probably most importantly), The Man From Earth (excellent movie check it out for sure) and I cant really remember more because I am tired.
Lame, i know.
Anyhow. time for some sleep. I am planning on straightening out some parts of my life here soon so that I can live less-complicatedly and I also plan on starting up on things I have either given up on or have not yet attempted. I know, optimism is way less productive for a writer then pessimism, but hey, I am sure i'll be putting up some new things since my DA fire seems to have been stoked up a bit. No promises on content though.
